The 18th Edition of the BS 7671 Wiring Regulations were published in July 2018. All electrical installations designed during and after January 2019 must comply with BS 7671: 2018 (18th edition).
This course is aimed at anyone working in the electrical industry that want to prove that they are up to date with the latest IET wiring regulations.
From the 1st of July 2019 all Registered Electricians must be qualified to the 18th Edition of the wiring regulation (BS 7671:2018).
It is also a requirement for those applying for the JIB ECS gold card to have the latest BS 7671 qualification.

Our 3 day 18th Edition course reviews the BS7671: 2018 regulation book, touching on a variety of topics to help candidates improve their understanding of the regulations and requirements for electrical installations.
Main course content
1. Scope, object and fundamental principles
3. Assessment of general characteristics
4. Protection for safety
5. Selection and installation of equipment
6. Inspection and testing
7. Special installations or locations
Method of assessment for this qualification is a two hour long computerised exam.
The exam will consist of 60 multiple choice questions and candidates are allowed a non-programmable calculator and a copy of BS7671:2018 wiring regulations with them during the exam. Candidates will have the option of carrying out a mock exam beforehand to familiarise themselves with the software. The exam will be carried out on the third day of the course.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
Candidates must be over 16, and ideally have knowledge of electrical installation and electrical science.
A good grasp of English is also needed.
This course is primarily aimed at practising electricians, however those in an allied profession such as consultants, surveyors, and other related trades have completed this course in order to enhance their understanding of the IET wiring regulations.

1 day 18th Edition course
We will also be running a one day 18th Edition course that will only cover the differences between the 18th edition and the latest amendment of the 17th edition (3rd). This course will only be available for those that have gained the Level 3 Award in requirements for Electrical installations since the 3rd amendment of the 17th edition came out (BS7671: 2008 (2015)). If you gained the qualification before the 3rd amendment came out in 2015 then you’ll need to take the 3 day course.
