This course is for those that wish to obtain an understanding of the concepts, processes and practices involved with the design, construction management and the initial verification of electrical installations.
The course covers relevant statutory and non-statuary requirements, electrical installation designs, BS7671, design and verification procedures, associated protective systems and aspects of environmental technologies. It covers design calculations and the application of
BS: 7671 and related guidance in the safe and effective design of an installation.
The learner’s ability in various aspects of electrical design of single and three phase circuits will be assessed.
Assessment will take place through a written knowledge assessment which will be graded pass, merit, distinction or fail and will complete a marked project.
Candidates must be at least 16 years old. There are no formal entry requirements. Candidates need to have some knowledge and experience to ensure they have the potential to achieve all aspects of the qualification. A good grasp of English and numeracy are also desired.
