This course is designed for those that have already carried out initial verification work within the electrical industry. This course assesses the candidates understanding of the theory and practice involved with the initial verification and commissioning of both single and three phase electrical installations. Once passed, candidates will be able to carry out initial verification and certification competently.

Course content

This course covers a variety of subjects to update the candidates understanding and knowledge of initial verification and certification.  Some of the subjects covered in this course are statutory and non-statutory legislation, different kinds of testing you need to know and understand, wiring regulations and instrument selection and operation.


This course is assessed through an on-screen open book exam and a practical assessment. The practical assessment involves the candidate completing a set of tasks on a simulated electrical installation.


Candidates must have working knowledge and understanding of electrical installations and should also have gained on site experience with electrical testing.
