This course is for those that need to carry out periodic inspections on existing installations, called a condition report.
This course assesses the candidates understanding of the
theory and practice involved with the periodic inspection, testing and condition reporting of both single and three phase electrical installations.
Once passed, candidates will be able to carry out periodic inspections, testing and certification competently.

Course content

This course covers a variety of subjects to update the candidates understanding and knowledge of periodic inspection, testing and certification.  Some of the subjects covered in this course are statutory and non-statutory legislation, different kinds of testing you need to know and understand, safe isolation and earth electrode resistance.

Assessment

The assessment involves two on screen open book exams and practical assessment covering periodic inspection and periodic inspection and testing.
Learners progressing from the initial verification qualification will only be subject to one of the on screen exams.

Requirements

Candidates must have in depth working knowledge and understanding of electrical installations, electrical practices and ideally had initial verification and 17th edition prior to course entry.

BS7671: Requirements for electrical installations. IET wiring regulations

 of the IET On – site guide BS 761: 2008 (2015)

of IEE Guidance note 3: Inspection and testing
